Eva, an older Black woman wearing a sparkly blue lace top and rhinestone-studded cat-eye glasses, smiles as she stands next to a large portrait of herself set on an easel. In the portrait, she's wearing the same glasses but with a bright orange top and orange earrings.

Representation in dental clinics matters—even in the waiting room.

In 2022, we collaborated with Positive Exposure on a photoshoot for Michiganders with disabilities to help celebrate diversity and promote inclusion in dental care settings. Since then, these powerful photos have been exhibited in dental clinics and at gallery showings in Michigan—including the Capitol Building.

If you or someone you care for is interested in being photographed, please complete the application below. Keep in mind—space is limited, and you will be contacted only if you are selected.

Applications for Detroit will close on September 29, and applications for Marquette will close on October 13.

Disability exists at the intersection of all identities, and it can happen to anyone at any time. We ask the demographic questions below to help demonstrate that point and have the greatest possible representation of Michiganders. Your information will not be shared or disclosed with any third parties, and you will be contacted only in association with this project.
